JUNG, CARL. (1875-1961). Swiss psychiatrist, who
founded the analytical school of psychology. Good Typed Letter Signed,
“C.G. Jung,” in German, on his name-imprinted stationery.
One page, large quarto. “Kusnacht, Zurich, Seestrasse 228,”
September 6, 1947. Excellent condition. Accompanied by original envelope
addressed to: “Mr. Rodolfo Schott, Rivista di Civilta Europea,
Via Po. 22, Roma, Italien.” Jung writes:
“Dear Sir, I thank you very much for your
friendly invitation to be involved with your magazine. Unfortunately,
I have to pull together all my strength to be able to do my daily
work, and therefore it is absolutely impossible for me to take any
further commitments. The topic would surely have attracted me a lot
— but on the other hand, I know that it would mean to me a huge
effort to me to think these thoughts — which would be suitable
for such an article. It would pull me out too much of my momentary
field of interest; therefore I would have to decline. Unfortunately,
there are none of my old essays which would be of any interest to
you. I was only very exceptionally involved with the political/psychological
topic — and only at times when motivated by inward desire. With
the heartfelt regrets, I remain your humble servant, C.G. Jung.”
